RLM Foundations - 5S Methodology
The 5S process is a system for organizing spaces so work can be performed efficiently, effectively, and safely.
Raymond's e-learning for key Raymond Lean Management principles offers the first step in understanding RLM and TPS standard process. Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to identify and implement the stages of 5S:
- Sort — Determine what needs to be present in each workstation and what can be removed.
- Set in Order — Arrange remaining tools or materials in an order that creates the least waste.
- Shine — Shine is about maintaining good cleaning practices, which means sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping down surfaces, putting tools and materials away, etc.
- Standardize — Systematize the first three steps to turn one-time efforts into habits.
- Sustain — Maintain standardized procedures and update them as necessary
