  • Identify and explain the purpose of the following parts: brushes, brush rigging, commutator, armature, field, terminal lugs, bearings, and magnets.  
  • Identify the schematic symbol for a DC series, shunt or separately excited, compound wound, and permanent magnet motors. 
  • Identify the schematic symbol for an AC motor.  
  • Identify the parts of an AC induction motor.
